Erin Dobbins has loved cooking as long as she can remember. She started making mud pies with her grandma and cousin to learning how to cook maccaroni and cheese to being taught family recipes. Each summer, she would watch cooking shows and experiment using the ingredients her mother had on hand. One of her early recipes was a coconut cream pie made for a family gathering. It was so good that she has kept the recipe a secret to this day.
In high school, Erin took AP classes in culinary arts, for which she received college credit. In these courses, she learned the principles of safe food handling and gained experience working in a commercial kitchen. Her teacher also introduced her to Julia Child's recipes and the art of French cooking. Have a night in with our delicious prepared meals in Vernon, TX. Turning a Passion into a Business
After a career in office management at a medical clinic in Oklahoma and a period as a stay-at-home mom, Erin reconnected with her passion for cooking by selling prepared meals and baked goods on Facebook. Her offerings were so popular that it soon developed into a full-fledged business—but For Heavens Confections will always have the look and feel of a home kitchen.
Our downtown location has seating for up to 26 guests, and we have free Wi-Fi for customers. Groups and families with kids are always welcome, and there's plenty of parking nearby. We invite you to drop in to get away from the hectic pace of life and linger over a gourmet coffee and cupcake.
